For over a century, Smith security officers have worked with local police when responding to intrusions. Our goal is to provide personal security services for the benefit of all people in Texas. By utilizing consistent communication with law enforcement, Smith officers improve alarm response time.
On January 20, 1961, law enforcement was notified after an alarm sounded in a Dallas office building at 1:14 a.m. Just four minutes later, police and Smith patrolmen reported to the scene. Upon arrival, Smith patrolmen noted the front door was broken open. Police entered the building with caution and arrested two burglars. Smith patrolmen remained on premises waiting for the arrival of the property owner, while the police took the burglars to jail. The alarm response, arrest and report all took place within 30 minutes.
Today, our services have expanded to offer many forms of technology to further aid law enforcement in alarm response time, whether commercial or residential. Smith Protective Services now incorporates detection systems including motion sensors, glass breaks, door contacts, sirens/horns, communicators, keypads, and control equipment. Phone apps allow you to verify intrusion to escalate the signal from simple alarm to crime, which warrants immediate law enforcement response.
