Interview Process

If the applicant meets the requirements stated below, he/she then interviews with the Personnel Manager. If that interview is positive, the applicant then interviews with the Operations Manager. During this meeting, each applicant’s particular capabilities and talents are assessed to determine the best job assignment. By doing this, we can properly place the successful applicant in the best environment for the officer and the customer to be served.

Background Investigation

An investigation is conducted to verify the following information before any officer goes to work for a SMITH customer:

  • Date of Birth
  • Social Security Number
  • Current Address
  • Former Address
  • Previous Employment
  • Driver’s License Check
  • Criminal History Check
  • Educational Verification

Basic Security Officer Requirements

  • Applicant must be a US Citizen or meet US Immigration requirements

  • Applicant must submit to a pre-employment psychological test

  • Applicant must consent to an in-depth background check.

  • Applicant must have a High School education

  • Applicant must be 18 years of age

  • Applicant must have a telephone at his/her residence

  • Applicant must have a valid Texas driver’s license

  • Applicant must have reliable transportation
  • Applicant must not have been convicted of a felony or a crime of moral turpitude
