Aaron Smith

President & Board Member

Aaron oversees the strategic direction of the Texas-based company who employees over 1,500 service professionals. Smith is the largest and oldest privately held security company in the US and expanded its operations over the past 30 years to become a leader in professional services and staffing as well as electronic and digital security services. As a 4th generation of Smith’s executive team Aaron works closely with senior management staff and other family members to ensure personal engagement and visibility across the entire organization. He understands the dynamic atmosphere and integral approach needed to have a family business environment that draws from over 100 years of experience to meet the challenges of each decade to empower our customers and strengthen the community by providing security and staffing services with integrity and professionalism.

Prior to becoming the company’s President, Aaron earned his B.S. in Business Administration & M.S. of Accounting from the University of Texas at Dallas as well as his Juris Doctor from the University of Texas School of Law. In addition to his educational endeavors, Aaron served his country as an enlisted Marine achieving the rank of Sergeant. While serving, he spent two years as a military police officer in Okinawa, Japan only to finish out his enlistment as a marine embassy security guard at the U.S. diplomatic missions in Belgium and Egypt.

Over the past decade, Aaron learned the family business one step at a time serving in several capacities by tackling challenging roles in the Accounting & Finance, IT, and legal departments. This experience along with hands-on operations involvement ranging from security officer in the field to senior executive leadership responsibility among the owners of the business offers the insight necessary to understand how to align day-to-day priorities in service of the organizations long-term vision.

Elliott Smith

Vice-President & Legal Officer

On a daily basis, Elliott Smith oversees legal services and contract administration companywide for Smith.  He is also responsible for overseeing the company’s regulatory compliance, risk management, and corporate governance.  This includes responsibility for all governance activities of the Board of Directors, rules and regulations, and applicable compliance in State and Federal jurisdictions.  As part of the executive management team, Elliott assists in the strategic setting of direction and policies for the company.

Given the changing regulatory environment, Elliott has taken a leading role in managing the company’s legal and regulatory affairs.  He advises and supports key personnel on a variety of issues while maintaining the company’s relationships with external legal counsel. Prior to joining Smith’s executive management team, Elliott graduated from Texas A & M University School of Law and earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from the University of Texas at Dallas.

Elliott began his career at Smith as the Director of Legal Affairs, leading contractual negotiations and company policy implementation after familiarizing himself with the operations of services offered by the company.  Before joining Smith, Elliott worked as an Associate Attorney in private law firms specializing in Employment/Labor Law, Commercial Litigation and Commercial Real Estate transactions.

Alex Smith

Vice-President & Business Development Officer

As a senior member of the executive management team, Alex plays a unique role in the day-to-day operation of the company by mentoring those around him in a variety of business disciplines that he has used over the years in both his education and professional endeavors. Prior to starting his career here at Smith, Alex attended Brookhaven Community College where he earned his Associate’s Degree in Applied Sciences later transferring to the University of North Texas where he focused his studies in the field of Kinesiology.

In addition to his education achievements, Alex is a very active member with organizations such as ASIS, Associated Security Services and Investigators of the State of Texas (A.S.S.I.S.T), and the NTCC (North Texas Crime Commission). Because of his diverse background and desire to take life’s challenges head-on, Alex is dedicated to improving Smith’s Business Development training program so that the services that we sell to our client base are not only rooted in sound business theory, but are also proven to be effective in the field through Smith’s excellence of execution attitude.

At the forefront of our Business Development team, Alex works with all of Smith’s Business Development Managers ensuring that we are listening to our client’s concerns, addressing those needs by offering the most technological advanced services that will help them achieve their individual security goals, which in turn helps build a stronger long-term business relationship. Alex’s dedication to his team, our company, and to our industry are paramount in leading Smith into its next century of service.

Kimberly Smith

Vice President Strategic Initiatives & Community Engagement

Kimberly Smith is a member of the 4G executive management team for Smith Protective Services and Personnel Solutions focused on strategic initiatives and workforce development. She is also a Senior IT Business Analyst for Siemens PLM Software, where she is active in the Employee Resource Group and as communications chair for the Women’s Network at Siemens USA. She also offers training on Mindfulness at work in the corporate environment.

Kimberly is a U.S. Air Force veteran with experience in airborne reconnaissance and joint cyber efforts. Her technical expertise is balanced with interdisciplinary degrees in Arts and Technology from the University of Texas, Dallas. She is passionate about the relationship of emerging technologies and indigenous wisdom traditions and enjoys nature photography and capturing ‘moments of beauty’ in stillness. She is also an artist with works in ‘ether-realism’ included in Ken Wilber’s book Introduction to Integral Theory.
